The college has significant advantages in scientific research platform and outstanding scientific research strength. In recent years, in the construction of scientific research, the college has followed the development of intelligent manufacturing related fields, docked the social demand, and upgraded the service level. Combined with the goal of Construction of High-Level Universities in Shanghai, the college has built the plateau disciplines of Mechanical Engineering (Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering). The college has undertaken National Key R&D Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, PLA General Armament Arms and Equipment Pre-Research Project, Aviation Science Foundation, Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, and more than 400 national and provincial research projects and enterprise projects, and has won the Second Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Advancement, China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards, and China Industry-University-Research Cooperative Innovation Achievement Award and other awards of more than seven provincial and ministerial levels; and has set up more than ten technology transfer centers in Yangtze River Delta region. In the Yangtze River Delta region, there are more than ten work stations for technology transfer, for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial incubation. The Intelligent Manufacturing Factory Laboratory built in accordance with the elements of Industry 4.0 was awarded the title of National Intelligent Manufacturing Intelligent Learning Workshop by the Ministry of Education, and the Wuyi Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Industry and Technology built with Wuyi County of Zhejiang Province has been operating effectively and prominently. In 2021, Pudong Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Institute will be approved as one of the first batch of modern industrial colleges in Shanghai, providing effective guarantee for cultivating high-level Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering talents in the field of high-end equipment.
